Interested in buying a first home? Go into this major purchase with your eyes open with our Homebuyer Education Program. Upon completion, you'll be offered a premium mortgage by one of our partner banks and, if eligible, closing-cost or down-payment assistance.
If you've already come to one of our First-Time Homebuyer Seminars, this one-minute video reviews the next step: one-on-one counseling. To meet with a counselor, you must submit our Intake Form and submit certain financial documents, along with a $75 money order. If you need credit counseling, you'll receive that as well.
The Intake Form and List of Documents to Submit shown in the video are available here:
After completing one-on-one counseling and provided the counselor decides you're "mortgage ready," the next step is a class, which you may take over two days at our office or online at your own pace.
The certificate you receive after completing the class is good for one year (6 months, with an option to renew for another 6 months). It should be presented to a mortgage specialist at one of our many partner banks. For details, speak with your counselor.
