NHS Brooklyn’s housing counselors are professionals in assisting homeowners with all phases of having a mortgage. We can assist you if you:

• Are you behind with your mortgage and are in foreclosure (or fear you soon will be) and need a loan modification or other relief 
   

• Had a lien put on your home for water or property tax arrears 
   

• Would like to refinance your mortgage
   

• Are a senior with equity in your home and are considering a reverse mortgage

• Have questions about home insurance, flood insurance, or flood risk.

Referrals for free legal consultation and other services are also available.

Most months, we offer a free Mortgage Update webinar that you may attend if you have questions about your mortgage, foreclosure, or other mortgage matter. We also periodically have webinars on reverse mortgage, refinancing, and lowering property taxes. In addition, each month, we have educational webinars on home insurance and flood insurance.
