NHS Brooklyn offers homeowners free webinars on ways to maintain their home. To register for the webinar featured below, click the flyer.

Home Maintenance Training
​

We offer two levels of Home Maintenance Training, each with a different emphasis.

 

There are no prerequisites and the levels may be taken in either order.

 

All courses are taught by a licensed and insured contractor in mid-week classes and run for 7 weeks for a total of 20 hours. Class size is limited to 15.

 

The course fee for each level is $175 and includes materials.

 

Students who attend at least 4 classes will be issued a Certificate of Completion.

 

Note: These courses are NOT appropriate for job readiness.

Level I

​

  • Basic carpentry, including wood framing

  • Drywalling

  • Flooring

  • Tiling

  • Exterior repairs

​

Level II

​

  • Roofing

  • Electrical

  • Stair repair 

  • Molding installation

  • Flooring

  • Plumbing

  • More!
